Yes. Please contact us to setup a free phone consultation to help you decide. You can also come to free seminars by the Doctor's monthly that are listed on our calendar of events.

I heard you do not take Dental Insurance, is that true?

No. As of January 2010, Groton Wellness now accepts Delta Dental premier insurance. Shall I come in or make a phone appointment?

Your initial visit to the Medical Doctor's requires an onsite appointment. Subsequent visits to the Medical Doctor can possibly be done with a phone consultation depending on your individual circumstances.

Is it helpful for me to send my written history prior to my appointment?

You must complete the New Patient packet forms prior to your first appointment. You are strongly encouraged to attend the Doctor's free seminar prior to your initial visit. You are encouraged to provide your medical history prior to your initial visit, unless the Doctor tells you differently.

What conditions do your Doctor's and Practitioner's treat?

The Doctor's and Practitioner's treat a wide range of issues holistically. Functional and Alternative Medicine is about understanding you and treating you versus specific symptoms. Many of the reasons people don't feel well, are tired, are ill, or not feeling and performing as well as they think they should are the result of stress, improper nutrition, hormone imbalance and/or toxins. The Doctor's and Practitioner's at Groton Wellness can help with all of these things. You are encouraged to read the web page about the Doctor's and Practitioner's, attend the free informational seminars and/or setup a free phone consult with the doctor/practitioner to determine if this is a good fit for you. You must complete the New Patient Packet at least two weeks prior to your initial visit. You are encouraged to provide your medical history prior to your initial visit, unless the Doctor tells you differently.

Why don't you take medical insurance?

We fully understand the challenge this presents to patients, unfortunately at this time, we can not bill insurance carriers. When a clinic bills health insurance companies directly, the doctor is required to become a participating provider. The doctor must sign a contract that allows the insurance company to determine which services the doctor will and will not provide, and how much they will be paid for those services. Insurance companies are heavily invested in the conventional model of health care that relies on medications and surgery. The Doctor's and Practitioner's at Groton Wellness are committed to understanding and addressing the underlying causes of your symptoms with specific nutritional, supplement, lifestyle, and wellness therapy recommendations. The time it takes to gain this understanding and make these recommendations does not fit into the short visit timeframes that the insurance companies dictate is necessary with their plans.

Which insurance companies will reimburse me for my appointment charges?

Some insurance companies do cover portions of the charges for seeing the practitioner's at Groton Wellness. It is best to contact your insurance provider and ask if they cover out of network doctors (Robert Luby and Charise Ivy are M.D.) and alternative network provider's (all other practitioner's are licensed). We will give you the paperwork necessary for you to submit to your insurance carrier and we do hear of patients who have gotten reimbursed.

Do you provide primary medical care?

Groton Wellness currently has 2 Medical Doctor's (M.D), 3 Dentist's (DDS, DMD), and a half dozen other practitioners on staff. These practitioners treat a wide variety of situations that you face. Groton Wellness is currently pursuing adding a primary care physcian (M.D.) but at this moment does not offer this service.
