About Elisabeth:
Elisabeth Horesh is an acupuncturist and practitioner of Chinese herbal medicine at Groton Wellness. While finishing her Master’s Degree in Oriental Medicine, she implemented a three-tiered approach to patient wellness using acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, and basic Chinese medical nutrition as an effective means to treat many common health issues. Using this approach, Elisabeth specifically tailors treatments based on her patient’s symptoms and overall constitution. By addressing the root of an individual’s problem rather than the symptoms, she has successfully treated chronic and acute pain, anxiety, depression, digestive problems, asthma, allergies, women’s health and fertility, and many other conditions.

Why did you become an acupuncturist?
I began experiencing some health problems while working in a fast-paced corporate environmental consulting company.  After trying a few western approaches with minimal success, I found acupuncture and Chinese herbs. This form of medicine helped me get to the root of my problems, and I began to experience more energy, less stress, and better overall health almost immediately.  At the time, I was also looking into careers that would enable me to help people on a personal level.  After my first treatment I began researching Master’s Degree programs in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine and realized this was the direction I wanted my life to take.
