If I am interested in mercury amalgam removal and chelation/detoxification, at what point in the process should I see Dr. Luby?

Dr. Luby can help you at any point in this process. If you are able to see him prior to amalgam removal, he will be able to guide you to supplements and nutrients which can help ensure safe amalgam removal. If you see him after your amalgams have been removed, whether it be days, weeks, months, or years, you may proceed directly to baseline testing of mercury levels and preparation for chelation.

Can I detoxify or chelate using only natural substances?

Yes. Most patients who see Dr. Luby prefer non-pharmaceutical approaches. The majority of the remedies used by Dr. Luby are non-pharmaceutical. Dr. Luby will discuss which options will work best for you, and help you come to a well-informed decision.

Does Dr. Luby help detoxify more than just mercury?

Yes. In addition to measuring mercury levels, the tests which Dr. Luby utilizes measure about 20 other heavy metals. Dr. Luby also offers testing and detoxification programs for a variety of other environmental and household toxins. Finally, Dr. Luby is able to test for your genetic detoxification capability, to determine which toxins are most important for you to avoid, and which nutrients are most important to help you detoxify.

Can Dr. Luby see me for problems other than detoxification and chelation?

Certainly. Dr. Luby follows the principles of “Functional Medicine”. This is a paradigm which focuses on helping people who suffer from or wish to prevent all types of chronic health problems. Conventional medicine focuses on diagnosing a disease and using a guideline-based one-size-fits-all approach to treatment. Functional medicine aims to detect underlying physiologic processes which are performing suboptimally. By bringing these processes into balance and improving their level of function, any and all health problems may be improved.
