About Ross:
Massage can have many faces. Some see it as just a relaxing rub and others may see it as a therapeutic experience. I see it both ways, a relaxing way to achieve great therapeutic benefits. My interest in helping people through touch lead me to the Bancroft School of Massage Therapy in Worcester. During my internship I worked with a client who suffered from partial paralysis due to a car accident. Through a combination of acupuncture, stretching, and swedish, myofascial, and shiatsu massage, we achieved results beyond any doctor's expectations. This experience gave me the insight and passion to use massage to benefit those looking to recover from not just minor but also serious injury. Since then I have worked with athletes from WPI's crew and basketball teams to obtain immediate improvements in range of motion, breathing, and recovery from all forms of injuries from frozen shoulder to tennis elbow, sprained ankles to other muscle and tendon injuries. I have also been a part of the running subculture as the principle therapist for the Lowell Marathon and continued work with competitive sprinters and runners.
Outside of my work as a Licensed Massage Therapist I work as a server and bartender and enjoy improving my own physical well-being through skiing martial arts and playing with my dog. My focus is on working with clients so that together we can improve not just physical and structural health but also your overall quality of life. There can be more to massage then just relaxation. It has benefits ranging from improved circulation and lymphatic flow to relieving simple muscle cramps. One of my favorite parts of the treatment is answering questions about anatomy or the techniques involved. Communication is very important to achieving the results desired, be it anything from reducing stress, to relief from shin splints.
