Nourishing Traditions Food Preparation Workshop
Traditional meal preparation methods produced food that was high in vitamins, nutrients and was easily digestible. In contrast, today’s modern highly processed and refined foods are often very difficult to digest and low in absorbable nutrients and vitamins. Some believe that processed food is a leading factor in the proliferation of modern diseases such as heart disease, cancer and diabetes. Come join us in a journey to help you incorporate traditional cooking methods into your life to contribute to a healthy lifestyle.
The classes teach traditional techniques based on Sally Fallon’s book, Nourishing Traditions. The classes will focus on the preparation of foods that promote healthy digestion, immune function, and overall health. Topics include: fermented foods, nutrient dense broths, proper soaking of grains, nuts and legumes, high quality farming methods, and the incorporation of the traditional methods into the modern lifestyle.
All the cooking classes are hands on classes. You will go home with a workbook chock-full of information, recipes, and samples. The classes currently being offered are taught as two or three hour classes including:
