Commonly Asked Questions about Neti Pot Therapy:

How does this work?

The pot is actually a small ceramic pot that looks like a cross between Aladdin’s Lamp and a tea pot! As the spout is thin and relatively straight, it is easy for the Neti Pot to connect with your nares (nose). If your head is in the right plane, water will simply flow in and out, washing out old mucus, pollen and other allergens.

Is it safe? Is it effective?

The practice of nasal washing is safe if you are careful not to choke on the water. That is the learning part of the experience. Our instructor is an expert, so it is only necessary to watch, listen and practice to get the hang of it.

What to expect?

You will have a session with the therapist to watch her demonstrate how to use the Neti pot and go over the teaching materials. You will have time to practice with supervision until you feel comfortable with the technique. As part of your work up for allergies, and plan of treatment, we suggest you give it a try!

Is it covered by insurance? How much does it cost?

This service is not covered by insurance. Allergy and respiratory health education may be covered according to the rules of your insurer and your diagnosis. Please contact us for more information.
